Date:  1/20/2011

Participants:  Tom Mahood

General search area:

From the Juniper Flats trailhead parking area southeast to a very small cell phone zone on a peak north of Lost Horse Mountain.  Also, two coordinate locations provided by remote viewers.

Rationale for searching this area:

There was some indications that Bill was planning on visiting Lost Horse Mountain, and the cellphone coverage, although only a few acres, was not far from Lost Horse Mountain and within easy distance of where Bill’s vehicle was found.  According to the initial search map, no one had ever searched this ridgeline.  There was also no evidence that the remote viewed sites had never been checked.

Impressions of area and findings:

Fairly easy travel and good visibility.  It was a good possibility if Bill had decided to do something unexpected and head in the opposite direction from the parking area.

Coverage level:

Very good.  All brush was checked as was the entire cell coverage area and fringe.  I’d consider this fully searched.

Comments:

While I didn’t have much confidence in the two coordinates provided to Mary by the remote viewers, they had never been checked and I needed to get them off my list.  They weren’t worth a trip by themselves, but I was able to combine them with the trip to the small cell coverage area in the other direction.  The two locations were rather interesting and turned out to be worth checking as they were curiously close to the Ewasko ICP yet not visible due to the ground being depressed.  There were large rockpiles there which I checked over carefully.  There was a third remote viewed coordinate I didn’t bother to check, as it was within a few hundred yards of the heavily used Ryan campground.
