JT15, 1/29/2011

Date:  1/29/2011

Participants:  Pete Carlson, Tom Mahood, Patrick McCurdy

General search area:

Cell phone zone on easterly slope of Lang Canyon, especially the small southern cell zone.

Rationale for searching this area:

The smaller, southerly cell phone coverage zone on the easterly slopes of Lang Canyon hadn’t been adequately covered.  Also, there were a few remaining areas in Johnny Lang Canyon that hadn’t been covered.  This trip was intended to essentially complete the canyon.

Impressions of area and findings:

The terrain around the small, southern cell zone was extremely vertical and rugged.  There was no apparent reason Bill would have been in that area.  Further, there was no apparent reason for anyone of sane mind to be in that area.  It’s sorta crazy.

Coverage level:

At this point we considered the canyon fully searched, as well as the slopes.  The probability of finding Bill in the upper reaches of Johnny Lang Canyon appear to be very remote.

Comments:

None, other than I think I kissed the ground after descending from the southerly cell area.

GPS mileage submitted for this trip:  18.6 miles
